Our Founder: Thomas S. Haydon Jr., “Tommy”, graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Civil Engineering degree in 1970. Already with a wife and 6 kids at home, he worked a couple of years for both consultants and contractors before starting Haydon Bridge Company on July 25th, 1972.
The Early Years: These early years were tough. Tommy would bid a job, go build it, and once completed, repeat the cycle. After a few years, he was able to rely on his key employees, whom he treated like family, to oversee the day-to-day construction and allow him to pursue additional opportunities.
2nd Generation: Tommy’s oldest 2 children, Thomas S. Haydon, III and Philip M. Haydon joined the business in 1984. Prior to this, both had worked for the company going through school at both the shop and in the field. After working full-time in the field for a few years, Thomas migrated to the office to help Tommy with Project Management and Philip remained in the field running projects.
3rd Generation & Current Ownership: Philip “Marshall” Haydon Jr. and longtime employee Kevin Wolfe take over the reins of the day-to-day operations of Haydon Bridge.
