Our Vision Statement

The culture at Haydon Bridge is a continuation of our core values.

Our company has a reputation, from day one to over 50 years later of being a highway and bridge construction company that produces quality work with high standards, honesty, integrity and efficiency without cutting corners. Regardless of innovations in technology and processes, those values will never change.

Working at Haydon Bridge can be a long-term career opportunity. When employees join Haydon Bridge, we clearly define the career progression pathway beginning at entry level Laborer all the way to jobsite Superintendent. This allows our employees to have clear line of sight into what is available and what they can gain along the way. Every employee at Haydon Bridge receives periodic constructive feedback via a review process conducted by their direct manager. This ensures everyone clearly understands what is expected of them and what they need to do to achieve their career goals.

Employee growth is limited when there is no training investment. While some may view training as lost time or an expense, we view training time as a valuable investment that is recouped through efficiency gains. Anyone can work harder but the winners will work smarter! We invest in our leadership through annual, offsite leadership training and by using virtual training tools like BuildWitt® training.

Additionally, the BuildWitt® tool allows us to capture process and procedures in a video format that helps employees learn and allows the company to retain valuable knowledge from our experienced leaders forever. Whether we are training via video, on-the-job-training, mentoring, annual reviews or jobsite safety meetings, our investment in training and communication never stops.

Our Ongoing Focus on Safety

At Haydon Bridge, no project is worth an injury, no matter how small that injury may be. The Safety of our employees, sub-contractors, inspectors and anyone that steps on our jobsite is important to us. Our safety policies and procedures are continuously monitored and adjusted as needed based on regulatory changes, process changes or if we simply don’t think it’s right.

Employees, both field and office are involved with policy development to provide a common sense, 360-degree review approach. Field management, Project management and Safety management are all involved with inspection processes to ensure everyone is on the same page and every work process considers safety first. We welcome employee feedback and comments relating to safety policies not only because it creates ownership in the safety message, but because we value our employee knowledge and insight.

At Haydon Bridge, we ask employees to take care of themselves FIRST, then complete the work task, not because some regulation or law, but because it’s the right thing to do!
