Fall Protection
Haydon Bridge employees recently took time out from the field to participate in fall protection training delivered by 3M. A huge thanks to Laura Schmidt from 3M for conducting live demonstrations and teaching our crews about the importance of wearing fall arrest gear. Check out these videos of Laura demonstrating fall forces absorbed by the body if wearing improper gear vs wearing the proper gear with shock absorbing technology. Those of you that like to deer hunt from tree stands while wearing fall arrest harnesses, take note! PROPER fall arrest gear not only saves lives but also prevents serious bodily injury that can occur when your fall is arrested.

Rigging Training
Thanks to the Crosby Group for taking a half-day to teach our employees about the principles of rigging. Our crews learned the importance of rigging inspections and were taught the basic principles of load calculations, working load limits (WLL), de-rating factors and many other aspects important to overhead lifting. A special thanks to Tim Coombs & Fulcrum Lifting for helping schedule this important training!

New Hires Narrative: When employees retire, they take their knowledge and expertise with them. By capturing retiring worker trade tips in video form, Haydon Bridge is solving the riddle of ‘brain drain’ and providing future generations of workers with a valuable resource from which to draw. How is this done? Haydon Bridge is pleased to welcome Will Pettus to our staff! Will joined us in November of 2024 and will play an instrumental part in documenting numerous aspects of our business in video form. Will is helping our Project & Safety Managers capture, edit & document procedural videos that will be shared with all Haydon Bridge employees on our video training platform.
Russell Co Core Drilling (folder)
This is AEI (American Engineers, INC) performing core drilling for drilled shafts in the Cumberland River. This allows us and the KYTC to get an accurate profile of the subsurface/bedrock and determine what depth the deep foundation system (drilled shafts in this case) need to go to. These core samples were retrieved from nearly 60′ below the riverbed.
