Hopkins Cofferdam
Do you remember the post from last month regarding the construction of sheet pile cofferdams? Well, this is what the cofferdam looks like when fully constructed and de-watered. Once the structure within this cofferdam is completed, we will backfill and re-flood the inside of the cofferdam. This will then allow the cofferdam to be de-constructed by removing the sheet piles.

2491 Bridge Mountain Parkway
A lot of hard work and rebar installation going on at the 2491 Bridge located on the Mountain Parkway! We would like to give a big shout out to one of our subcontractors Bar-Tie for wasting no time in getting this reinforcement installed at this location while Haydon Bridge employees finish buckling up the diaphragms and install the armored edges.
Russell County Slip form
Russell County crews were hard at work slip forming the barrier wall for the bridge over B Mann Road on our project in Russell County. We would like to thank them for their hard work and excellent production by being able to complete one side in a day over 660 linear feet!!
2491 Deck Pour
Take a look at both of our Mountain Parkway crews coming together to pour the second bridge deck in Wolfe County. Deck pours are always a group effort, and we appreciate all the hard work everyone put it on this day to make it a success!
Good Luck Lisa Thomas
Lisa Thomas has filled the Controller position at Haydon Bridge Company for the last 26 years! She has intentions to retire at the end of May and is looking forward to spending time riding her horses. In this picture, she’s riding one of her horses (Zambian) at a recent competition at the Kentucky Horse Park.
When asked what she will miss most, Lisa quickly answered ‘the Bar Tie Christmas Candy’. After some prodding, she reluctantly mentioned she would miss the people in the office as well. Lisa’s sarcastic humor will be missed around here….sometimes.
On a serious note, Lisa will certainly be missed and we wish her many years of health and happiness doing what she loves the most. Be safe Lisa and good luck at your competitions!
