Washington Girders
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! As you can see from the “Christmas Tree Rigging” of spreader beams on our Washington County project over Long Lick Creek. This rigging was needed due to the length of the structural steel girders. Big shout out to the Haydon Bridge & Bar Tie Reinforcing crews on getting this steel erected efficiently and most importantly safely!!
Wolfe County Beams
🚧 Exciting Progress on the Mountain Parkway! 🚧
On November 25, 2024, our dedicated Mountain Parkway crews successfully set 208,000 lbs concrete beams along the new westbound lanes. This milestone was achieved with the help of a Manitowoc 777 and a Liebherr 1450-8.1. A huge shoutout to our hardworking team for their relentless efforts to make this date! 👷♂️👷♀️
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to enhance our infrastructure! 🛣️
Franklin Co – Spans 1-4 Completed
Phase 1 of the Broadway Bridge Demolition project in Franklin Co, Ky has been completed. We would like to give a big shout out to our partners CJ Mahan Construction Company and our Subcontractors. Innovative Demolition and Concrete Coring Company for helping us not only complete this project but do so a month ahead of schedule! We are now preparing to winterize the site as the KY river begins to rise with a plan of coming back and completing phase 2 late next spring when the water begins to recede.
A Shout out to our HBC Operators
Operators at Haydon Bridge Company wear a lot of hats. On a typical day, NCCCO certified operators at Haydon Bridge Company may go from making picks with a Lattice Boom Crawler Crane to excavating a footing with a GPS Enabled CAT 336 Excavator. Our fleet also consists of a variety of wheel and skid loaders, dozers, trucks, and other miscellaneous equipment that our operators have the opportunity to run throughout the course of a job.
A Picture is worth….
We recently set these 157’ 6” beams at the Wolfe County, KY jobsite. What most see are the cranes and the large beam being hoisted and placed. What you won’t see are the countless hours of training & planning the crews go through to make this all happen. Traffic control supervisor certifications taught by the UK Technology Transfer Program, in-house traffic control technician training, Rigging & Signaling training, Critical Lift planning & design, Fall protection awareness, crane operator licensing are some that come to mind just by looking at this picture. This picture is definitely worth a thousand words! Thanks go to our highly trained crews for making it look easy!
Hopkins Co Recap
We recently completed and re-opened 3 bridges and a short stretch of KY route 502 in Hopkins County KY. Like any job, this one wasn’t without issues. Our crews battled mud, swamp, floods and over 100 cotton mouth snakes to complete this job! Not your routine day at the office but we think the finished product looks really nice! We hope the folks in Madisonville, Nebo and surrounding communities enjoy these bridges for years to come.
