EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: Tim Roseberry
Tim Roseberry is our employee spotlight of the month! Tim is a NCCCO licensed crane operator and can operate any equipment with tracks or tires! When asked what his favorite job activity is, like a true operator or kid at the beach, Tim replied ‘anything where I can dig’. But in all seriousness, this reply was not a surprise as Tim’s work ethic is second to none.
Tim is an easy-going family man that’s as honest as the day is long! We value Tim’s opinions and enjoy his never-ending, positive attitude and stories. Simply put, Tim is one of those employees that we all enjoy being around. Please help us recognize a very important employee this month. The Haydon Bridge employee spotlight this month belongs to Mr. Tim Roseberry!
B Mann Deck Pour 1, B Mann Deck Pour 2, B Mann Deck Pour 3
Crews have been working hard to pour the bridge deck at the B Mann Road Site! Check out some sights from the 1st phase of the deck pour, which included about ½ of the total bridge deck. The second half was poured just a week later! Once again, we want to give a huge thanks to Concrete Pump Partners for helping everything run smoothly. We also want to give a shoutout to Hilti for their Backpack Concrete Vibrators, which give us a more efficient and ergonomic solution to vibrating concrete!

Hopkins County Sheet Piling Cofferdam 1, 2, 3, & 4
Narrative: In areas with a significant amount of water, we must dewater the space around the structure before construction can begin. One such way to do that is by building a cofferdam from sheet piling, which seals the area from the outside water, allowing the water inside the cofferdam to be pumped out.
Here at Haydon Bridge Company, we have significant experience in constructing sheet piling cofferdams. Check out our crew in Hopkins county using a vibratory hammer to drive sheet piling for a cofferdam.
Crane – Hand Signals
Narrative: Bridge construction naturally involves hoisting heavy objects, and It’s not always advantageous to signal crane operators with voice instructions via radio. In those times, standardized hand signals must be used. All of our employees are trained in the standardized hand signals before they can start signaling crane operators, and the operators are trained to stop if the signaling is unclear.
Cow Creek Span 2 Beams
Narrative: Take a look at this beam setting along the Mountain Parkway Project, as we rotate the beams 180 degree to set them in their final positions on the pier caps. Beam setting takes multiple people all working in unison to have a safe and productive day. The Magoffin crew did and excellent job in completing the task.
3D Models
Haydon Bridge project managers have been building our own 3D surface files for our GPS machines for the past couple of years. These are created for excavations, access roads, shoring, and many other items. By building these models we are able to plan work out ahead and ensure that all of our excavations are sloped per OSHA standards. The photo above shows one of the excavation models created for pier foundations on a bridge project in Russell County.
